Description: Built by H. K. Porter (C/N 7228) August, 1936 for Virginia Electric Power Company (VEPCO) as VEPCO No. 836  with 180 lbs operating pressure, 14x15 cylinders and 14,365 lbs tractive effort.  Engine was last assigned to the Richmond 12th Street power plant.  In 1960, engine was sold to Albemarle Paper Company and named Brown’s Island Express.  Retired May 31, 1967 and donated to ODC by Ethyl Corporation (successor to Albemarle Paper) in October, 1974. Asbestos insulation removed 2010.
