Excursions
If you would like advance notice of chapter excursions, please be sure to add your name to our mailing list. Flyers are typically sent out about ten weeks before the first excursions are run in the spring and the fall. Tour Group operators: The Old Dominion Chapter can arrange charter excursion on the Buckingham Branch Railroad with sufficient advance notice. James River Rambler & Santa Claus Train James River Rambler: October 10th, 17th and 24th. Two 31/2 hour trips each day, one at 9:30am(Oct 17 and 24th sold out)and one at 1:30 pm (All 1:30 Trips Sold Out). Cost is $25 for adults; $12.00 for children (2 thru 12) and child less than 2 and DO NOT OCUUPY a seat are free. On the 17th, we have a special event on both trips. Tom Mix Ranger will stage a train robbery and Wild West show. Santa Claus Train All 2009 Santa Train Trips are sold out!!!
If you have fun on the trips, and like to be around trains, why not join the Old Dominion Chapter as a volunteer? We always need people to help with excursions, do restoration of railroad equipment at our Hallsboro Yard, and staff the museum. Click here for more info
